Today - August 12, 2026 - we have a New Moon Total Solar Eclipse in Leo.

And something interesting is happening: this eclipse is falling in Leo in both Tropical and True Sidereal Astrology.

If you've been following along with True Sidereal, you might wonder how that's possible. Typically, there's about a one-sign difference between the two systems. So how are they aligned right now?

Let me explain.

In True Sidereal Astrology, this New Moon Total Solar Eclipse is happening around 5 degrees of Leo - reflecting the actual visible sky and the real constellations as they appear today.

In Tropical Astrology, it's at approximately 20 degrees of Leo.

First, let's normalize something: New Moons happen every month. This is an energy of new beginnings we experience constantly.

We cycle through these phases continuously - beginnings and endings, endings and beginnings. Like day and night. It's a rhythm we've become so used to, it feels normal and safe.

But sometimes, the cycles create bigger shifts. More drastic changes. Changes that feel less like the gentle ebb and flow of daily life and more like a pivot point.
