The Lion's Gate Portal: What's Actually Happening?

You've probably seen it everywhere right now.

The Lion's Gate Portal.

It's supposed to be this unique alignment between the Sun while it's almost exactly at the center of Leo, the Earth, and Sirius - the brightest star in the sky. A special energetic window for personal growth and manifestation.

Interesting, right?

Let me share what I've been noticing as I've been working with True Sidereal Astrology & Human Design for several years now.

Exploring What's Actually in the Sky

In True Sidereal Astrology - which reflects where the stars actually are in the sky right now - the Sun just entered Leo (on August 7, 2026).

And the Lion's Gate Portal? It's not actually part of the conversation there.

The "8/8" everyone's celebrating? That's a Tropical calculation. It's based on where astrology traditionally said the stars were 2,000 years ago, not where they actually are today.

I personally love angel numbers. And having a date of 8/8/26 creating an "888" energy - amplified abundance? That's beautiful synchronicity worth honoring.

But I want to be really clear about something that's been shifting for me.

What Actually Changes Things

Even if today were a bonafide portal - or any other so-called cosmic doorway - I want you to know this:

This was never going to be your quick fix.

And missing a "portal" was never going to leave you screwed.

I truly believe we have abundance all around us every single day. And we can set intentions every single day.

It's not about frantically leveraging that one day or accidentally missing it.

What actually changes things is the quieter part: the daily intentions you set and the actions you take. The things you do again and again, on repeat, consistently.

And if the so called Lion's gate portal helps you get this daily habit started, or is a potent reminder of how important it is, then this is great.

Why I Love the 64 Genius Archetypes

Consistency is built one small, repeated choice at a time. 

Not through special portal activations (though those can be nice).

But through showing up for yourself daily. Setting intentions that matter to you. Taking action even when no one's watching. Being the person you're becoming, day after day after day.

That's where the real transformation lives.

As a side note: I literally started my journey as a coach with the book The Compound Effect by Darren Hardy. I was resisting it at the time, but I have come to learn that he has a point. Frankly it was missing a lot of the feminine energetics and somatic work I desperately needed at the time to find my harmony with both concepts.... and today I get to appreciate that both equally apply. The feminine and masculine are equally important when it comes to taking action (that's a whole topic for another post).
