Why I Became a Human Design Teacher: A Journey to My Own Authority

If you'd asked my high school self what I wanted to be when I grew up, the answer was simple: a math teacher.

Not just because I was really good at math, but because I loved teaching. I had a gift for it -something that felt so natural, so effortless, that even then I recognized it as a core part of who I am.

I remember tutoring students who were struggling, and watching something shift in them as I explained a concept in a way that just clicked. They'd go from getting D's to A's. Not because I was some genius, but because I had a talent for making things practical, easy, and real. People understood when I taught.

But the traditional school system? The pay? The structure? None of it appealed to me.

So I didn't become that math teacher. But the teacher in me? She never went away.

The Body Yes to Human Design

Fast forward to when Human Design found me in 2020.

I remember the moment clearly. Everything in my being responded with a resounding yes. Not a tentative maybe. Not an intellectual interest. A full-body, soul-level yes that said: There's something here for you.

I didn't hesitate. I researched. I found Karen Curry Parker's program - felt drawn to it immediately. I got certified in all four levels. I bought several books. I immersed myself completely in understanding this system.

And I started teaching almost immediately.

Now, looking back at my chart, this makes complete sense. My Sun is in the 3rd house, and my North Node is in Gemini (South Node in Sagittarius). It's the signature of someone who learns something and then needs to teach it right away. It's not a flaw in my process - it's how I'm wired.

For years, I thought I should wait more. That I needed to integrate everything at a much deeper level before I could responsibly teach. But over and over, I watched my early teachings create profound transformations for my clients, even when I was still learning myself. In a way teaching helped me deepen my learnings.

So I made a mindset shift: this is my process. This is how I'm designed to move through the world. And it works.

When Things Didn't Feel Right

As I dove deeper into Human Design, something started shifting.

I began noticing things that didn't align with me. Teachings that felt rigid. Approaches that seemed limiting. I had all this background in deconditioning work, energetics, somatic practices - and I could see how Human Design could be SO much more transformative if we approached it differently.

I also went through a phase where I felt overwhelmed. I thought I had to give my clients everything - all the information, all the gates, all the channels, the whole system. But I kept bumping up against my own philosophy: less is more.

Then the big shift happened.

I realized that information alone doesn't create transformation. Knowledge isn't the same as embodied change. So instead of trying to compress everything into every session, I made a decision: I would create a comprehensive certification program that held all the information, but structured it around transformation and deconditioning, not just data.

I shifted to intuitive readings where I pick up on just a few key elements that feel alive and relevant for each person. I ask a lot of questions. I listen deeply. It's more like a coaching session than a reading.

Honestly? It was scary. I thought people just wanted information. But what I discovered is that people want to understand themselves. They want permission to trust themselves. They want to know how this knowledge can actually help them live better, more aligned lives.

Teaching My Own Way

Here's what happened next: people started coming back and saying things like, "Oh my.... I finally understand this. I could never fully grasp Human Design before, but the way you explain it... it makes sense. It feels real."

And I realized something crucial: a lot of people had been turned away from Human Design by the rigidity of traditional teachings. They didn't need more information. They needed a different approach.

So I made another decision: I'm teaching this my way.

I stopped trying to fit into the traditional Human Design box. I drew on my influences - Karen Curry Parker's revolutionary perspective, Richard Rudd's Gene Keys wisdom, Ra Uru Hu's original teachings - but I created something uniquely my own. Something practical. Something down-to-earth. Something that honored the whole chart rather than just the type.

Because here's what I discovered: the types are often limiting people.

In fact, they were created later, after the original system was developed. And I have a hunch (confirmed through research) that they were created partly for marketing purposes - because people like to be categorized, and it feels good to be "seen" through a specific type.

But that same categorization can become a prison. So we have to be careful with that and see it lightly, like an access point.

True Sidereal Changed Everything

Then came another body yes moment: True Sidereal Astrology and, with it, True Sidereal Human Design.

I was drawn to it through following my own authority, my intuition, my inner child's curiosity. And when I started working with True Sidereal charts alongside Tropical charts, something opened up.

Suddenly, I was seeing different facets of people. New perspectives. Deeper truths. And many of my clients reported that their True Sidereal chart felt more true - more aligned with who they actually are at their core.

Now, this is what most people come to me for. Some have outgrown Tropical. Some never resonated with it. Some feel tremendous value in seeing both perspectives.

And my certification is unique in this way: I teach practitioners to work confidently with both systems. Because in a world that's waking up and evolving, we need practitioners who aren't bound by "the way it's always been done."

What This Means for My Teaching

My job as a Human Design teacher isn't to make you memorize gates and channels. It's not to fit you into a type and call it a day.

My job is to:

Help you see yourself more clearly - so you can recognize your own unique gifts, patterns, and conditioning

Support your deconditioning - so you can let go of what doesn't serve you and step into alignment

Make it practical - so you can actually use this knowledge in your real life instead of getting lost in intellectual analysis

Empower your authority - so you trust yourself over any external system, including mine

Human Design isn't a box to fit into. It's a mirror to see yourself more clearly. A tool for stepping into your power. A way to connect with the guidance of the heavens while living this beautiful 3D Earth experience.

And my job? To make it grounded. Tangible. Practical. Real.

Not mind candy. Not information overload. Not another dogmatic system that tells you who you should be.

Just a practical pathway home to yourself.
